Two weeks went by and had intercourse earlier this week and again it seemed a bit pinkish but my wife assumed it may have been some leftover blood from her recently concluded period, so wondering if it was on again I masturbated again and it was much more red, about 60 percent semen and the rest blood. After a couple of more times with intercourse it seemed to lighten up and subsequent masturbations did not show any. I first had blood in my semen about 10 years ago but it only happened once or twice, then I noticed it again 3 weeks ago (basically pinkish) but I had contributed that to a very hard fall on my bottom after slipping on ice 10 days prior to that (I'm 235 lb. I am 64 years old and have a fairly healthy sex life (relatively speaking). However, I suspect that bloody semen just might have been a very early warning sign, too. DLBCL lymphoma is an aggressive cancer and probably didn't take 6 months to develop, so probably not linked. It took a CT scan to initially see the tumorous lymph nodes in my abdomen, and there were no other presenting symptoms of lymphoma. I cannot conclude with any certainty that it was related, but I suspect the blood may have been a sign of urinary tract infection and/or lymph node inflammation in the groin or testicular area. I was ultimately diagnosed with diffuse large B cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, and am currently undergoing chemotherapy for treatment.

Three months later, I developed serious abdominal pain, caused by tumorous lymph nodes constricting my ureter and backing up urine into the kidney. After 2 months, I saw my urologist who did an in-office urinalysis and said 95 percent of the time it goes away on its own, and that it is probably a tiny stone in the prostate. I have a history of kidney stones, and about 10 months ago at age 56, I started having blood appear regularly in my semen. A couple years ago, I had short bouts of blood in my semen that went away on their own in a week or so.
